Act 1 Scene 1
(Jack’s mother was gambling.)
Mom: Oh, no, not again. (Roaring) Jack, Jack, where are you?
Jack: Here I am, mom. What’s up?
Mom: Send that old cow to the market to exchange some money back.
Jack: But mom, if I sold Rose, we would have no milk anymore.
Mom: Shut up. Do as I said.
Jack: (sign) All right, all right.
Act 1 Scene 2
(In the market.)
Girl: Sir, do you want any matches? If you buy ten boxes, I’ll give a 40 percent discount.
Jack: Sounds terrific. But I don’t have any money.
Girl: Please, sir, I haven’t eaten anything for three days. I’d like to exchange your cow with my matches.
Jack: Sorry, but I don’t need matches. Good-bye, and good luck to you.
Old man: Sir, since the sun is burning, would you like some ice cream?
Jack: Thank you, but I don’t really feel like eating ice cream. See you.
Mr. Bean: I have soybeans, mung beans, green beans, broad beans, green soybeans, peas, and above all, the most amazing beans in the world --- magic beans.
Jack: Wow, sounds wonderful. Beans is my favorite food, I can’t wait to have a bowl of bean soup. I want to buy all the beans with this cow.
Mr. Bean: This cow? What do I need this old skinny cow for? Go away, don’t bother me, kid.
Jack: Sir, please. My mom always told me “Helping someone in need is a honorable deed.”
Mr. Bean: All right, all right. (Sign) Today isn’t my day.
Act 2
(Jack went home.)
Jack: Mom, where are you? See what I have got.
Mom: Oh, Jack, you must have brought me lots of shining gold. Oh, I’m so excited. (Walked to Jack) What? You used our pretty cow to buy all this junks? Have you lost your mind?
Jack: Mom, these are no junks. There are soybeans, mung beans, green beans, broad beans, green soybeans and magic beans.
Mom: Magic beans? It doesn’t look magical at all. The vendor must be cheating you. I’ll keep other beans, but these magic beans, (opened the window) I’ll just throw them away.
Act 3
(The next morning)
Jack: Ah, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, the breeze is whispering, it should be a perfect day. (He looked out of the window) Oh, my God, the magic beans have grown to a huge beanstalk! It’s can be true, it must be my imagination!

Jack: The voice came from the clouds, how strange! I must go and see what’s going on up there. (He climbed up. Then he saw the prince was stocked in a castle.)
Jack: Hi, what happen to you? How can I help you?
Prince: It’s a long stories, I’ll tell you only if you take one of my leg hair.
(Jack took the prince’s leg hair, and the prince became as small as normal people. The prince opened the door, and welcomed Jack in.)
Prince: Thank you a million for saving my life. How can I ever repay you?
Jack: That’s no big deal. So what’s your story?
Prince: Once open a time, there’s a greedy witch who would even destroy the world only to get my hen and harp.
Jack: Your hen and harp? I don’t see they worth it.
Prince: You don’t understand, the hen can produce many golden eggs, and the harp is made of gold it can sing beautiful melodies. One day, the witch turned me to a giant and flew away with my hen and harp.
Jack: What are you going to do now?
Prince: Of course I’m going to pay my revenge. Are you going to come with me?
Jack: Well, I’ll would like to, but -------
Prince: What?
Jack: My mom always told me “No money, no help.”
Prince: Let’s make a deal—you help me to fight against the witch, and I’ll give you ten thousand golden eggs.
Jack: That’s the deal.

Witch: Very well, you want your stuff back? Then you have to knock me down first.

(They ran out of the witch’s house and returned to the prince’s palace.)
Prince: Jack, thank for your generous help. I couldn’t defeat that wicked witch without you.
Jack: Well, I’m flattered. Since you’ve finished your revenge, could you go home with me?
Prince: Jack, you’re the best friend that I’ve ever had. But I belong here. This is my home.
Jack: (start weeping) But what about me? What am I going to do?
Prince: Trust me, you’ll be remembered in my mind until the end of time. In one of the stars
I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the stars at nigh. You – only you – will have stars that can laugh.
Jack: I’ll cherish the memories we had together as sparkling diamonds.
(Jack’s mom was gambling)
Mom: (shouting) Oh, my God, oh, my God. Jack, I become a millionaire.
Jake: It’s time for me to go. Good-bye, my friend. Take good care of yourself.
Prince: So do you, my friend. (They hugged) Go, go, I have a surprise for you down there.
(Jack rushed down. He saw a present was wrapped neatly. He tore it off and burst out of yelling.)
Jack: (hold the prince’s toy tightly and walked to the window, smiling at the stars.)

Jack is a young boy. He lives with his mother. They live in a small house. The family is poor. Their cow, Betsy, gives them milk.
One day, Betsy has no milk. Jack and his mother are hungry.
"Jack, we need money," says his mother. "Take Betsy to the market and sell her."
Jack isn't happy because he likes Betsy. Sadly, he walks her to the market. A man is standing on the road. He wants Betsy. He has five beans in his hand. He shows them to Jack.
"These beans are special. They can grow very high," he says. "Do you want them?"
Jack likes the beans, so he gives Betsy to the man. At home, his mother sees the beans. She is very angry.
"Jack, we need money!" she says. "What can we buy with beans?" Jack goes to bed. He is very sad. His mother throws the beans out the window. Soon, a beanstalk is growing. It grows and grows and grows and grows! Now, it is in the sky!
Jack wakes up early. He sees the beanstalk. Where does it go? Jack goes up the beanstalk. He goes up and up and up. Finally, he is at the top.
A giant lives in the sky. He has a big house and a lot of money, but he isn't nice. He eats people! Jack doesn't know the giant. He goes into the
house.
Jack looks around the house. There are tables, chairs, rugs, and a fireplace. Everything is so big! Then, the giant's wife sees Jack. She is old and kind.
"Who are you?" she asks Jack.
"I am Jack," he says. "Can you give me some food? I am hungry." The giant's wife feeds Jack. Her food is good. Just then, a door opens. The giant is coming into the house!
"Quick, Jack, get into the pot," says the giant's wife. "The giant likes to eat boys!"
The giant has a goose. He puts it on the table. The goose lays an egg. It is made of gold! Jack sees the egg.
"I want that goose," he thinks. "I can sell the golden eggs. Then, Mother and I can buy food."
The giant goes out of the kitchen. Soon he comes back. He puts a golden harp on the table.
"I don't feel happy," he says. "Harp, sing me a song!"
The harp sings very well. The giant smiles, and eats his breakfast. Jack is also listening to the harp.
"The sound is really beautiful," thinks Jack. "I can give the harp to Mother. Then, she won't be angry with me."
Now, the giant feels sleepy. He closes his eyes. Soon he is
sleeping. Jack walks to the table. He takes the goose and the harp. They are also sleeping. Quietly, he takes them to the beanstalk. Suddenly, the harp wakes up.
"Help! Help! Somebody is taking me away!" it cries.
The giant wakes up. He looks out the window and sees Jack. Quickly, he runs after him. Jack goes down the beanstalk. He is very fast. Above him, the giant is going down the beanstalk. Will he catch Jack?
Now, Jack is at the bottom. He takes an ax and cuts the beanstalk. Whack! Whack! Whack! Slowly, the beanstalk falls over. Far above, the giant cries out. He falls to the ground. Whoomp! The ground shakes. The giant lies there still. He is dead!
Jack and his mother now have food and money. They live happily ever after.

杰克很早就醒了，他看见了豆茎。这株豆茎会通往哪里去呢？杰克沿着豆茎爬上去。他爬呀爬的，最后爬到了顶端。
天上有一位巨人住在那里，他有一间好大好大的屋子和好多好多的钱，但是他却不是个好人，因为他会吃人！杰克并不认识这个巨人，所以走进了这间屋子。
杰克看了看屋子里的四周，有桌子、椅子、地毯，还有一个壁炉。每一样东西都好大！
这时巨人的妻子看到了杰克，她年纪很大，但心地善良。
“你是谁？”她问杰克。
“我是杰克，”他说。“你可以给我一点吃的东西吗？我饿了。”
巨人的妻子煮东西给杰克吃，她煮的菜很好吃。就在这个时候，一扇门打开了，巨人就要走到屋子里来“快点！杰克！快到锅子里去，”巨人的妻子说道。“巨人喜欢吃男孩！” 巨人有一只鹅，他把这只鹅摆到餐桌上。鹅下了一颗蛋，这是一颗金蛋！杰克看到了这颗蛋。 “我想要那只鹅，”他心想。“我可以把金蛋卖掉，这样妈妈和我就可以拿钱买食物了。” 巨人走出厨房，很快又回来了。他在桌上放了一把黄金打造的竖琴。
“我不太开心，”他说。“竖琴！唱首歌给我听！”
竖琴唱得非常棒。巨人边吃着早餐边微笑。杰克也在聆听竖琴的歌声。
“这声音真好听，”杰克心想。“我可以把竖琴送给妈妈，这样她就不会生我的气了。” 巨人现在很困，就闭起双眼，很快便睡着了。杰克走向桌子，把鹅和竖琴抱走，它们也都睡着了。杰克静悄悄地把它们带到豆茎那里。突然间，竖琴醒了。
“救命啊！救命啊！有人要把我带走了！”它叫道。
巨人醒了。他往窗外看，见到杰克，于是马上追着他跑。杰克沿着豆茎往下爬，速度非常快。巨人正在他上面，也沿豆茎往下爬。他会抓到杰克吗？
杰克现在到了底端，他拿起一把斧头往豆茎砍。砍！砍！豆茎慢慢地倒了下来。巨人从天上大喊一声，便掉到地上。碰！地面震动了一下。巨人一动也不动地躺在那儿，他死掉了！ 现在杰克和妈妈有东西吃也有钱了，从此过着幸福快乐的日子。

英语教学是语言教学，语言教学中，环境起着重要的作用。如果我们创造必要的语言环境来改变学生枯燥的单词背诵、语法理解的学习模式，提高学生的学习英语的兴趣和信心。因此，我们教学英语时就得想方设法做好每堂课的教学设计，以激发学生的学习兴趣，让学生成为教学的主体，让教学活动变得生动、直观、趣味，才能改变枯燥的英语教学，达到良好的教学目的。下面就是我对课堂教学设计的几点体会。
一 创设真实情景。
如shopping（购物）的交际用语是初中英语教学的一个重要内容。教学时用实物，如水果、餐具、学习用品等做道具，给学生在课堂中设置真实的场景，将会达到良好的教学目的。如作者设计了一个在超市购物的场景：（三名学生）一人穿一件超市工作人员的服装，让另两个学生提着购物篮，依次在摆放实物的柜台（学生课桌）上去买东西。在活动中，同学们热情很高，争着去参加，而有些对所用语句不太熟练的同学，一边在观看，一边忙着在请教同桌还没记住的句子，这样的活动，是学生们很感兴趣的，每个学生都愿意积极参加，主动交流，使教学取得了良好的效果。
二、游戏的设计
在英语课上，由于要记的内容较多，长时间的机械训练，学生会感到枯燥，脑神经容易处于疲劳状态，但是，如果我们能把游戏运用到英语教学中来，以游戏的娱乐性来集中学生的注意力，调动他们的积极性，也是一个既有趣又有效的方法。下面列举几种游戏方法。
1、单词“接龙”
规则：教师说出一个单词，如teacher, 从第一组一个学生开始接任何一个以r开头的单词，如ride,下面的学生接着再说出一个以e开头的，在整个游戏中，不能重复说过的单词。这样的活动，能使每个学生全身心处在积极的活动状态中，以饱满的热情参与活动，努力回忆所学过的单词，即完成了课堂活动，也复习了所学知识，从而达到有效的教学目的。
2、用动作提示单词
一些单词可以通过形体表现出来，初中英语课本中有不少，比如：run ,jump ,dance, sing, swim, skate, sleep, open, close ,
smile ,sit ,drink等，在教学这些单词时，可以借助必要可行的形体动作，让学生边模仿动作边说单词，让他们嘴说身动，在轻松的氛围中记住所学词汇。也可以用活动的方式，让老师说出一个单词，学生模仿做动作，或是一个学生做个动作，让其它学生说出相应的单词或短语。通过这样的形象记忆，学生对单词的印象会更深刻，记得会更牢，还不用再专门化时间和精力去记单词的汉语意思，这难道不是一箭双雕，一石二鸟的好办法吗？
三、竞赛设计
初中生具有很强的进取心和荣誉感，尤其在市场经济竞争的熏陶下，学生的竞争意识更加强烈。将竞争机制引入英语课堂教学中，则是一种行之有效的好方法。比如，我们把班上学生分成几个小组，每组围坐在一起，由老师给同学们出示准备好的抢答题，每道题给10秒钟看题讨论，等老师说开始抢答后，学生再迅速举手，举手快的学生在经过允许，抢答成功后，给他们组加上一面小红旗，给抢答不成功学生所在小组扣去一面小红旗，最后，以获得红旗的最多少来给各小组排名次。这样的竞赛简单易搞，并且学生乐于参与，乐于争先，乐于学习，在活动中，他们的学习热情被充分调动起来了，课堂气氛也活跃了，同时，还能在活动中培养学生强烈的上进心和集体感，让学生以自身的经历体验“集体光荣我光荣，我为集体争光荣”的集体主义观念，从而形成班级的凝聚力和向上力。
四、评价的设计
1、从多方面对学生进行评价。
我们在课堂上对学生的评价不能单纯地针对他们所做出的回答正确与否，而要从他们积极举手、认真思考、清晰表达、思维独特等方面进行全面的分析和评价，侧重于以鼓励为主线的课堂评价，能使他们在课堂活动中不断得到肯定和鼓励，从而增强了发言的信心，激发了争取胜利的欲望。
2、要处理好评价内容的模糊度和精确之间的关系。
评价的内容不能是笼统的甚至是不可捉摸的，要对评价内容进行分解，提出评价的具体指标，以增强评价的可操作、有效和一致。例如，对学习态度进行评价，可以分解为上课认真听讲，认真完成作业，及时纠正错误等。这样的评价能使学生自己心中有底，因为不符合实事的评价，那怕是对他的表扬，也会让他觉得空洞。而有时候，如果不能概括出评价内容的主要指标，宁可模糊一些，也不要将其固定化，以避免最终评价的片面。如说一位学生“热爱祖国”，“热爱人民”就过于笼统、抽象。如果一个学生在热爱祖国方面被评为“中”或“差”，其具体含义又是什么?如果一个学生得到“优”，这个月变为“良”，其评判的依据又是什么?
3、让评价发挥激励功能和促进作用。
在教学过程中，对学生多一点表扬和鼓励，给学生的多一点正面评价。我们很多老师都对工作很认真，只要学生一出现口误就马上帮他们改正错误，其目的自然是为了让学生及时改正错误，以保证他们正确地掌握知识，但这种方法常常会使本来心中没底的学生觉得又失败了，对下一次的参与产生了忧虑和恐惧；其实有时你要是换成另一种方式，先不急于改正错误，针对他们已说对的部分，给以正面的鼓励和表扬，让他们在大家面前有成就感，没失面子，然后再用正确的说法重复一遍，这样，学生同样会明白，心理上更容易接受，不至于使他们在下次参与时产生胆怯心理，并且也很感激你的纠错方式，对你会由感激转变为喜爱，亲其师，信其道的事实就会在你的课堂出现。【英语剧本魔豆】
克莱恩说过：“学习充满乐趣时，才更为有效。”如果我们每次走进课堂之前，都精心设计一些生动有趣的活动，并对活动内容、方式和步骤做到胸中有数，我们的课堂一定会充满活力，教与学一定会取得更好的效果。
