An Impressive English Lesson On Wednesday of this Culture & Art Week we had the honour of inviting Prof. Hudson, a foreign teacher from W University, to give a class to the students of Class Eight, Grade One. His class left the students a deep impression.
Prof. Hudson had a free talk with the students in simple but humorous English. He spoke slowly and clearly so that students could follow him well. Meanwhile, he would repeat just in time what students did not understand. Greatly inspired, most of the students took an active part in his class.

The survey shows students’ energy-saving habits are far from satisfactory. Given the shortage of world energy, it’s time for us students to take some actions. We can, for example, prevent water from running unnecessarily when brushing or taking a bath. Besides, it won’t bother us much to turn off lights and electrical appliances the moment we leave. Finally, it’s good for all to recycle every piece of paper for further use. Since every small effort in our daily life can make a difference, let’s join hands to create a better world.
From the cartoon above we can see a student trying his best to reach the full score of all the important subjects that he has to learn at school, and people around are cheering for him to go on. While his efforts are focused on English, maths, Chinese and physics, he obviously ignored other important aspects: psychological development and moral standards.
When equipped with academic knowledge, we’ll be able to help society to advance in science and technology. Psychological development and high moral standards are also of vital importance, because they help us to face ups and downs in life more confidently, and help us to find the right place in our society and make contributions to our country.
