几周后，我把离家不远的几座小山作为“钱的源头”。
第二天，当第一缕阳光照射在大地上，远处山丘还沉浸在朦胧之中。我已经扛着磨得比纸还薄，用了斜面原理的斧头推着小车上山去了。
走在小道上，我心情好得不得了，心中只有红钞。现在就是牛粪摆在我面前，也会觉得比香水还香。
走到了小道尽头，点燃了一根香烟，稍作休息，心中充满了神圣感。
我选择了一棵相当粗壮的大树。
我起身，拿起斧头，一步一步地逼近大树。大树似乎变成了我的敌人。
似乎过了好几个小时，我来到大树前。如果这时刮起风，那便是腥风；如果这时下起雨，那便是血雨。
只见我左脚向前一步，斧头举过头顶，发力，砍！说时迟，那时快，斧刃把树干砍出了一条深深的伤痕。我费力地把其拔出，又是一砍！只听“刷”一声，大树被拦腰截断，远处一群鸟儿被巨响吓飞了。
我心中充满了喜悦，简直水泄不通。又有七八根树倒下，又有七八群鸟儿吓飞。我欣喜若狂。
正当我在砍第十棵时，一只啄木鸟从树上飞了下来，停在我头上，拼命啄，一边还自言自语：“这段木头里一定有虫„„” 我被啄得皮开肉绽，把啄木鸟赶到了树上。
“你干什么？”我质问道，“坏我的好事。”
“是你在乱伐树！”啄木鸟应道。
“什么叫乱伐树？我这是为了生存呀！”
“你要生存，我们就不要生存啦？再说，没了树木，导致生态不平衡，你也活不成！”它气愤地说，“现在人们已经在保护树，还在植树。而你，却不为地球着想，地球的环境如果崩溃了，我们所有生物都活不成！环保是每一个人的责任呀！”
“哐啷！”我手中的斧头掉在地上，心中充满了羞愧，为自己的不负责任而羞愧。
现在，我已经老了，但环保没老。它，还是一样。以前，现在，都一样，永远是每一个人的责任。
